A Christ Centered Church

A person, Jesus Christ, not a program, is the foremost. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31)

A Bible Believing Church

We stand for the historic fundamentals of Biblical Christianity. We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament to be the verbally inspired word of God, the final authority for faith and life.

An Independent Church

As a self-governing church we have no synod, conference, presbytery or other form of human organization that exercises control over the local congregation.

An Evangelistic Church

We maintain a steadily expanding program of missions, seeking to bring all to the Savior.

A Fellowshipping Church

Christian love, harmony, and unity are found in all our activities.

We all have sinned…

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory (perfect standard) of God.”

The penalty for sin is death…

Romans 6:23 “For the wages (payment) of sin is death (Hell).

Jesus Christ died for our sins…

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth (proved) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Believing that Christ’s death paid for our sin debt, we have eternal life (Heaven)…

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast.”

What We Believe…

Verbal Inspiration of the Bible, Trinity of the Godhead, Judgment, Genesis Account of Creation, Original Sin, The Virgin Birth, The Blood Atonement, The New Birth, Justification by Faith, Local Church Government, Believers Baptism by Immersion, Commemorative Lord’s Supper, Security of the Believer, Resurrection of the Body, Pre-Millenial Return of Christ, Millennial Reign of Christ, Hell-Eternal Torment, Heaven-Eternal Glory, Personality of Satan

1. We are all sinners.

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
God’s standard is perfection, and none of us can measure up to a perfect standard.

2. There is a consequence for sin.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…” Sin comes with a big price tag – and the payment for that price tag is death.  Because of our sin, we are separated from God.

3. We are enslaved to sin.

Our world is full of addictions, New Year resolutions, and self-help books all because we are in bondage to sin!  All sin must be removed in order to meet God’s standard of perfection, but we struggle and often fail to remove just one sin!

4. The good news – Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “He (God) has made Him (Christ) Who knew no sin, to be made sin for us.  So that we can be made the righteousness (perfection) of God in Him”!

5. His payment is offered as a free gift to all!

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “for by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God.  Not of works, lest any man should boast”.  How do you receive a gift?  You must take the giver of the gift at his word!Receive the gift of His payment by believing Him, and receive the gift of His righteousness (perfection) by believing Him!

As the son of founders, Dr. James and Linda Scudder, Pastor Scudder has been a fundamental part of Quentin Road his entire life. He served as Director of Media Ministries for Victory in Grace television and radio for 10 years, and pastored a church in the west suburbs of Chicago for 5 years. In 2007 he was asked to return to QRBBC to serve in the capacity of Executive Pastor alongside his father where they shared the pulpit and co-hosted Victory in Grace until 2016 when he assumed the Senior Pastorate. Jim and Karen are thrilled to serve with their two married daughters and are enjoying their grandchildren.

After graduating from Florida Bible College in 1971, Dr. Scudder and his wife, Linda, moved to Chicago to begin their ministry. In 1972, full of faith and with a great burden for souls, Dr. Scudder began an independent Bible-believing church on Fullerton Avenue in Chicago and called it the Chicago Bible Church. This storefront church was the beginning of an incredible vision that would lead untold thousands to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Property was soon purchased on Quentin Road in Palatine, Illinois thus giving the name Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church. It was on this five acres that

Dr. Scudder began not only the Quentin Road Christian School for grades K-12, but also the Dayspring Bible College.

Due to steady and increasing growth of both the church and schools it became apparent that a bigger building was needed. Stepping out on faith, the church bought 40 acres of farmland in Lake Zurich, incredibly enough, still located on Quentin Road just 8 miles north. The 24,000 square foot multipurpose building was built entirely by the dedicated men and women of the church.

In 1985 the Quentin Road Christian Preschool began with a handful of children. Parents from all over Chicago’s northwest suburbs began enrolling their 3 to 5 year old children in our year round preschool program. Now with nearly 2,000 children enrolled annually, it has become one of the nation’s largest Christian preschools.

With so many activities in a growing church, including the sports programs of the Christian schools, as well as other youth programs, there arose a need for a multi-purpose facility with a gymnasium. Once again the men and women of the church pitched in to build a 12,000 square-foot, full-size gymnasium, complete with a beautiful wood floor, and locker rooms. The gym quickly became a favorite spot for fans of the Quentin Road Eagles volleyball and basketball teams as it hosted many tournaments and close games with its Christian school rivals. This facility also houses the printing presses, graphic arts studios, customer service department, and shipping department of Victory In Grace Ministries.

In the fall of 1992 Dr. Scudder, along with his dedicated church family, began to pursue the possibility of spreading the clear Gospel of grace through television. On May 16, 1993 , the Quentin Road Bible Hour television broadcast aired for the first time. (The show was later renamed to Victory In Grace) This broadcast is now seen on many local and international networks.

Victory In Grace, the radio program featuring Dr. Scudder, aired for the first time on April 13, 1997 . Over the years, many lives have been changed because of the verse-by-verse expository preaching of Dr. Scudder and his love for the clear Gospel message.

With many different growing ministries, the present facilities of Quentin Road became too small and a 76,000 square foot auditorium and multipurpose building was completed in 1997, again by the faithful members of Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church . Housed in this gleaming-new addition is a 3,000-seat auditorium, a large commercial kitchen and cafeteria, a second gymnasium, a swimming pool, an indoor playland for the preschool children, administrative offices and editing studios for the Victory in Grace Publishing and Broadcast Ministries.”

Dayspring Bible College and Seminary, in partnership with the Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church, purchased a 131⁄2-acre campus. This beautiful property has 7 buildings, including 2 large dormitories, a gymnasium, a brand new commercial kitchen, a cafeteria, an academic building, and married student apartments. And it’s less than 5 miles from the church’s 43-acre campus. God performed many miraculous acts that have allowed us to acquire this beautiful property, which is completely surrounded by hundreds of acres of woods and trails. This miracle of God is going to advance Dayspring to a new level as we train the next generation of servant-leaders for the Lord.

Today Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church serves the community and the world through a variety of outreaches, each with the simple goal of reaching the lost with the love of Jesus Christ and building up believers in their faith.
